The social service committee of Ezekiel Lodge, Independent Order B’nai B’rith, will hear and endeavor to settle Jewish cases scheduled for the Essex County Domestic Relations Court, according to an announcement by David Kraemer, chairman of the committee. Mr. Kraemer is connected with the county probation office and heads a similar committee of the B’nai B’rith Council of New Jersey.
He declared that cases, especially those involving children, will be referred for arbitration to the committee on order of the court where the presiding jurist is Judge Joseph Siegler, a former president of Ezekiel Lodge, and one of the B’nai B’rith leaders in the state. Mr. Kraemer declared that the committee hopes to persuade litigants to settle their difficulties in an atmosphere less tense than that of a court-room, so that the case need never reach the court.
