Establishment of Yiddish Chair at Hebrew University Will Be Postponed

A decision to postpone consideration of the Yiddish chair, offered to the Institute of Jewish Studies of the Hebrew University by David Schapiro, publisher of the New York “Day,” was unanimously adopted at a joint meeting of the Palestine Committee and teachers of the Institute held here yesterday.

The committee decided to postpone consideration of the Yiddish chair until after the establishment of chairs in Hebrew, the Bible, Jewish history and Jewish philosophy.
