Estimates of the number of claims against a German insurance firm that is being sued for its failure to pay out policies dating from the Holocaust era are greatly exaggerated, according to the firm’s chief executive officer. Henning Schulte-Noelle told a news conference Thursday that Allianz officials found only 18 cases in which it is unclear whether such policies were not paid.
