A resolution expressing confidence in Meir Grossman, Revisionist member of the Jewish Agency executive, was adopted here today at a conference of European leaders of the Zionist-Revisionist Party, including representatives of the executive of the Revisionist Party of Britain. The resolution aims to counteract a decision adopted by the joint Herut-Revisionist group in Israel demanding the resignation of Mr. Grossman from the Agency executive.
Mr. Grossman, who arrived here during the week-end en route to Argentina where he will address meetings in behalf of the United Israel Appeal, reported to the Revisionist conference here on the break which occurred between him and the Herut-Revisionist group in Israel. He charged that the Herut, under the pretext of merger with the Revisionists, has completely eliminated the Zionist-Revisionist Party in Israel. He therefore decided to revive the Revisionist Party in Israel by creating a unit under the name of “Free Revisionist Organization,” he reported.
Mr. Grossman announced that the Zionist-Revisionists would launch a shekal campaign in order to elect their own candidates to the next World Zionist Congress which will take place in Jerusalem at the end of the summer. Approving of his plan to conduct a shekel campaign, the conference of the European Revisionists here called upon Zionist-Revisionists in and outside of Israel to maintain unity. The conference, which lasted several days, was held in camera.
