European Leaders of Ort Honored at Luncheon

The importance of ORT work today was stressed by European leaders of ORT, speaking at a luncheon given in their honor by George Backer, president of the American ORT Federation. Among the speakers were Dr. Max Gottschalk, head of the HIAS-ICA Emigration Association; Dr. Wilhelm Kleeman, former president of the Berlin Jewish Community and former Chairman of the German ORT; Daniel Wolf, Dutch philanthropist; Abraham Lipschutz, vice-president of the French ORT; Boris Pregel, vice-president of the OSE, and Alexander Halpern, chairman of the British ORT.

The appreciation of the American ORT Federation for their work was voiced by Backer, Louis B. Boudin and Mrs. Edward B. Gresser. Dr. David Lvovitch spoke for the Central Board of the World ORT Union.
