The mayor of this popular watering place, where the intergovernmental refugee conference was held last July on the initiative of President Roosevelt, announced today that a monument will be erected to the President in recognition of his efforts in behalf of refugees.
Erection of the monument, believed to be the first anywhere for America’s Chief Executive, was Decided upon unanimously at a meeting of the municipal council.
