Former President Herbert Hoover received tonight the Humanitarian Award of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America at the tenth anniversary dinner of the Seminary’s Universal Brotherhood Movement. Mr. Hoover was cited for his “dedication to the cause of brotherhood and man’s spiritual and physical welfare.”
H.F. Jensen, Lord Mayor of Sydney, Australia, was the recipient, at the dinner, of the Seminary’s 1960 Universal Brotherhood Award in recognition of his “profound contribution to civilization in our time and to the goals to which the Seminary and all religious efforts are dedicated.” Mayor Jensen recently won international acclaim for his uncompromising stand against religious and racial intolerance.
