An Emergency Committee has been organised here in order to help to save the famous Slobodka Yeshiva near Kovno, which has made an urgent appeal for help to its friends in America.
3,000 dollars in cash were raised at a two-days Conference held here attended by 300 former students of the Yeshiva, who are now resident in New York.
In addition to appointing the Emergency Committee, the Conference has also decided to send two delegates to Slobodka to study the situation on the spot and to report what measures are necessary to save the institution.
