The Earl of Reading, former Viceroy of India, on whom the King conferred the title of Marquis, assumed the name of Marquis of Reading today.
In conformity with British tradition, a Lord, when made marquis, has the choice of retaining the name under which he was known as Lord, or assuming a new title. The Earl of Reading chose the former course.
DR. WEIZMANN DENIES TRIP TO U.S. FOR PALESTINE LOAN
A message received from Dr. Chaim Weizmann by the Zionist Organization of America and given out by Louis Lipsky, chairman of the organization, states that the reports circulated recently that Dr. Weizmann is to come to this country very soon, in the interests of a national loan for Palestine, are without foundation.
It is understood that Dr. Weizmann is planning to come to American in the fall.
