Exhibit on Holocaust, Jewish Resistance, to Go on National Tour

The first New York showing of a photographic exhibit entitled “The Holocaust and Resistance,” and consisting of blowups of captured Nazi photographs will be held tomorrow in the Herzl Auditorium Gallery, 515 Park Avenue. The more than 50 photographs, a 32-panel display commemorates the 30th anniversary of ghetto uprisings in Nazi-occupied Europe. The reception and opening ceremonies are sponsored by the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations and the American Federation of Jewish Fighters, Camp Inmates and Nazi Victims.

There are documents and photos of the ghettos, Jewish resistance, concentration camps and crematoria as well as pictures depicting the early days of the Nazi era; the deportations, book burning and the burning of Jewish synagogues before the war began in 1939. Eli Zborowski, president of the Federation, and himself a member of the Jewish Resistance Organization. ZOB, in Poland during World War II, said Yad Vashem, Israel’s National Remembrance Authority, prepared the exhibit to be shown throughout the U.S.

The 17th cholera case this month in the Jerusalem area was reported today. The victim was a man from Katana village near Ramallah.

A forest in the memory of the late Dr. Yaacov Herzog, director general of the Prime Minister’s office was dedicated by the Jewish National Fund today near Moshav Nechusha in the Lachish region. The forest will have more than 10,000 trees.

There will be no bulletin Thursday, Nov. 23 due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
