A 70-year old Soviet stage director, who has been living in Israel for the last year, has received permission to return to Moscow next month to preside over the opening of a production on which he was working before he was exiled from the Soviet Union four years ago.

Yuri Lyubimov, who is not Jewish but received Israeli citizenship by virtue of his marriage to a Jewish woman, is the founder of the avantgarde Taganka Theater.

In March 1984, Lyubimov was fired from the theater and expelled from the Communist Party. He moved to Israel last year.
