The “floating convention” of the Jewish Maritime League closed yesterday with the adoption of resolutions for expansion of the organization while the Mt. Zion cruised home to Palestine through the Mediterranean.

It was decided to increase propaganda for Jewish seafaring activities, seek an added 20,000 members during the year and charter a special Jewish ship to visit Jewish centers the world over to spread the Jewish maritime idea.

Messages of encouragement in the political fight for the Jewish homeland were radioed from the ship to Dr. Chaim Weizmann, president of the World Zionist Organization; David Ben-Gurion, member of its executive, and Moshe Shertok, head of its political department.

Hundreds of delegates and guests on board for the league’s first conference discussed problems of Jewish shipping. The convention ship cruised the Mediterranean, touching at Cyprus and Syrian ports. Dr. M. Solovoitchik presided over the conference.
