Confidence was expressed here today by Jewish leaders that the Tri-City Campaign for the United Jewish Appeal, which comprises this city and Moline and Rock Island, Ill., will far exceed its minimum quota of $3,000.
The campaign was inaugurated last Sunday evening at the home of E. P. Adler, local newspaper publisher, who is chairman of the campaign. Twenty-four leaders of these communities attended and after hearing pleas for aid of stricken German Jewry by Adler and Rabbi Albert S. Goldstein of Davenport, pledged $2,000. Following the meeting, an intensive canvass of the Jewish communities of the tri-cities was inaugurated.
Hyman Bornstein of Moline is vice-chairman of the campaign.
