Expeditions Set out to Study Jewish Folklore

Jewish Folk lore in white Russia and Caucasia will be studied by two expeditions which have set out from here. The expeditions were organized by the Jewish Historic Ethnographical Society, founded by the late S. Ansky. The noted playwright. author of the “Dybbuk,” devoted a great many years of his life to systematic research in Yiddish folklore in the various parts of the Russian Empire.

One hundred and seventy journals, dailies, weeklies and monthlies, are now being published in the Soviet Union, it was seen from a exhibition which was opened her in the building of the Jewish Government Theatre. The Journals come from all parts of Russia and include those published in factories and clubs.
