Drilling apparatus used in the oil field at Gan Yavneh was badly damaged, and power lines to the field were disrupted, when natural gas exploded at the works today. It was the second gas explosion in a week. No one was injured.
The management overseeing the drilling operations immediately ordered all work suspended pending a survey of the operations and minute re-examination of all equipment and methods.
