Extremist Muslim clerics in Germany are calling on followers to fight a “holy war” against the United States. According to a report in the German magazine Focus, calls to fight alongside Afghanistan’s Taliban leaders have been made in mosques in Hamburg, Bremen, Frankfurt and Cologne. “We have definite evidence that several mosques are trying to recruit fighters for Afghanistan,” a German official was quoted as saying.
