The Federal Communications Commission announced today that it has granted the request of G.A. Richards, owner of three radio stations, for a new hearing on charges that he ordered anti-Semitism injected in newscasts over station KMPC, Los Angeles.
The hearing examiner recently died and on this basis Mr. Richards demanded a new hearing. The F.C.C. is seeking to determine whether or not to permit Richards to hold his licenses to operate radio stations. He also owns WJR, Detroit, and WGAR, Cleveland.
