The State Fair Employment Practices Commission bill cleared the House Appropriations Committee this week and is expected to go before the lower house of the Legislature for debate on a special priority order.
The lower house group approved the bill in its original form providing an operating fund for the commission of $40,000 a year for two years. The Senate appropriations committee, which accepted a companion bill, reduced the budget provision to $30,000 a year.
