The Farband-Labor Zionist Order’s executive announced today that the organization will participate in the civil rights March on Washington August 28. It hailed reports that other major Jewish organizations in America had also decided to take an active part in the demonstration.
In a parallel development, the United Hebrew Trades and the Central Trades and Labor Council of New York pledged their support today to the march, and voiced hope that the demonstration would succeed in getting Congress to approve President Kennedy’s Civil Rights bill.
