Founder’s Day was observed by the National Farm School here today in connection with the 32nd annual spring exercises of the institution. Tribute was paid to the late Dr. Joseph Krauskopf, founder of the school, and ground was broken for a Farm Mechanics Building, the first building of its type for fabrication and instruction in farm mechanics in the State of Pennsylvania. The dedication of trees planted in memory of friends and relatives was another feature of the day.
According to Herbert D. Allman, president of the school, the past year has been one of the outstanding in the history of the institution. “The many betterments,” said Mr. Allman, “introduced and carried forward during the past few years have given the institution a high place among educational institutions throughout the country. The enrollment is again the largest in its history, outnumbering the large registration of a year ago, despite which we still have to disappoint many eager, worthy lads, because of our limited funds.”
