The Federal Court sitting in Detroit, which on July 1 held a hearing to determine the constitutionality of the law for the registration of aliens, recently passed by the Michigan Legislature, has already reached a decision on the question, it became known here today. The decision of the three Federal Court judges, Arthur S. Dennison, Ernest O’Brien and Charles S. Simons, will not be published however before the end of this week.
Supporters of the registration law are now busy preparing a new registration bill for the next session of the Michigan Legislature, in case the Federal Court should decide that the present registration law is unconstitutional.
