Federal Judge J. Trieber of Little Rock, Dies at 73

Federal Judge Jacob Trieber of Little Rock, Ark. who was Judge of the Eastern District of Arkansas for the last twenty-seven years, died at the home of his daughter. Mrs. Charles H. Newton. in Searsdale. N. Y. He had been living these since his temporary assignment in August, to preside over certain cases in the Soutern New York district involving charges of union restriction of building operations.

Judge Trieber was 73 years old. a nativ of Raschkow. Germany. Besides his daughter he leaves a widow and also a sen. Harry M. Trieber. a lawyer of Little Rock. The funeral services will be held in that city.

Going to St. Louis as a boy, Judge Trieber finished his schooling there and began his law practice in Helena. Ark. He soon showed an active interest in polities, and in 1891 was nominated for United States Senator in the Republican ca?es in Arkansas. He was a delegate to every ? convention of his party from 1889 to 1856.

Before his appointment to the bench. Judge Trither had been for three years Federal Atterney for the same district in which be became Judge. In 1914-15 he was President of the Arkanas Bar Association, and in 1995-97. Grand Master of the Masoes of his State.
