Fourteen hundred young people of Manhattan and Brooklyn, representing “a cross-section of the socially conscious youth of the Greater City,” were to attend the sixth annual charity ball of the Junior Federation of the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities at the Hotel Plaza Saturday night.
Announcement of the turnout expected at the ball, proceeds of which will he turned over to the Brooklyn Federation for the support of its twenty-five constituent agencies, was made Friday night in a statement to Stuart M. Miller, ball chairman, by Evans D. Cohen, chairman of the ticket distribution committee.
In addition to the 1,400 young people expected at the ball, a long list of patrons and patronesses, headed by Governor and Mrs. Lehman and Mayor and Mrs. La-Guardia has been obtained by the committee in charge of the affair. Outstanding members of the Jewish community will be guests of honor at the affair.
