The clothing and allied industries division of the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies will honor William Goldman, William P. Goldman and Herman Lissner at a testimonial dinner Sunday at the Hotel Commodore.
More than 700 reservations already have been made for the dinner, which will mark the culmination of the division’s drive on behalf of Federation’s 1934 emergency campaign to raise $2,071,000.
Tribute will be paid to the three men for their services and leadership in the field of philanthropy and social endeavor. All have been connected with Federation work over a period of years. Lissner is secretary of Federation and was one of its founders seventeen years ago. William Goldman is a member of Federation’s board of trustees and a director of Montefiore Hospital. William P. Goldman also has figured prominently in Federation campaigns and in other social welfare enterprises.
Speakers at the dinner will be Max D. Steuer and Charles D. Jaffee. There will be entertainment, followed by dancing. Jerome I. Udell, chairman of the clothing and allied industries division of Federation, will preside.
