Hundreds of persons were attracted last night by the burning of a fiery cross on one of the iron bridges in the city. The cross, which was soaked in oil, measured about twelve feet in height and was seven feet wide. Firemen put out the blaze.
News also comes from Guelph, a town near Toronto, that a large wooden cross was also burning there.
Detectives are now investigating the new Klan activities. The trial of Monteiths, organizer of the Hamilton Klan, who was arrested last week, was postponed for a fortnight.
