At eleven at night, the special political police here carried out a search of the Jewish Sport Club and arrested fifty-five Jews who happened to be on the premises.
Without any investigation, the arrested persons were escorted to prison and put at the disposition of the military commandant of Havana. In answer to an inquiry by the J.T.A. correspondent; the police declined to give any statement to the press regarding the arrests.
The Jewish Sport Club in Havana was founded three months ago. It’s membership consists mainly of young working men.
