Fifty of the 54 groups that make up the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations sent letters to President Clinton and members of Congress urging them to approve a $1.8 billion aid package for Israel, the Palestinians and Jordan to implement last year’s Wye agreement. Last week, Clinton vetoed a foreign aid bill because it did not contain the Wye aid.
