Fifty young South African Jews left for Israel last night and another group will leave tomorrow as the vanguard of some 2,000 South African Jews who plan to go to Israel in the immediate future. They include students and experts in farming and medicine and they plan to take over non-combatant duties to ease Israel’s critical shortages of manpower on the home front.
