Filene, Gimbel, Hayes Return

Edward A. Filene, Boston merchant and economist; Adam Gimbel, president of Saks-Fifth Ave., and Arthur Garfield Hays, noted liberal attorney returned from Europe Tuesday on the French liner Ile de France.

Mr. Filene was present at the London Economic Conference and a delegate to the International Chamber of Commerce Congress at Madrid.

Mr. Hayes returned from a short trip abroad as one of the foreign counsel selected to defend the Communists accused of having burned the Reichstag building.
