Two Israeli film stars, Topol and Dahlia Lavi, joined demonstrators organized by the World Union of Jewish Students in a demonstration before the Iraqi Embassy protesting the executions in Baghdad and the treatment of the Jews in the Arab countries. Some of the demonstrators came dressed in prison clothes. One group carried a gallows.
The demonstrators moved from the Iraqi Embassy to the Egyptian Embassy and the offices of the Arab’ League. At each stopping point, the shofar, the ram’s horn, was blown by a man wearing a prayer-shawl.
