The Jewish National Council announced today that a meeting will be held on June 18 for final approval of its five-point program to combat the new British policy on Palestine.
Replying to a demand by a delegation of Haifa Jews that the program be immediately implemented and that negotiations for broader representation in the movement to defeat the policy be terminated, the Council said the negotiations would be brought to a close within the next few days.
Citing failure of efforts to strengthen representation in the movement without affecting the organization of the Palestine Jewish Community, the Council voiced regret that “certain circles preferred other dealings above the public interest.”
