The House of Representatives adjourned until tomorrow immediately upon reconvening today, without taking a final vote upon the amendments tentatively adopted yesterday for the compulsory registration of aliens under the pending census bill and the exclusion of aliens from Congressional apportionment.
Congressman Sabath declared that in his opinion both amendments will be defeated upon final vote.
Tuesday’s vote adopting these amendments was tentative and is subject to final vote because the House was in session as a committee of the whole and the bill must be formally reported to the House for final vote.
