Indications of the presence of oil southwest of the Dead Sea in the Kurnub area are recorded in the report of an expedition to to Southern Palestine by Adolph Reifenberg, Research Assistant in the Biochemical Institute of the Hebrew University.

The report is published in Hebrew and in English under the editorship of Prof. A. Fodor, Director of the Chemical Institute of the Hebrew University, and is the first of the publications on the scientific investigation of Palestine by the Hebrew University staff. Accompanied by a supplementary suvey on the local geology by Mr. L. Picard, the report covers the results of analyses of asphalt and phosphate deposits and also of soil analysis in the Beersheba and Dead Sea areas.

Joseph L. Feibleman of Newark, N. J., former president of the Newark Real Estate Board and recently elected president of the New Jersey Association of Real Estate Boards, was tendered a testimonial dinner at the Robert Treat Hotel. Speakers who paid tribute to Mr. Feibleman were former Congressman Eugene F. Kinkead; Joseph T. Farming, past grand exalted ruler of the Grand Lodge of Elks: Vincent P. Bradley, a member of the New Jersey Real Estate Commission. Joseph R. Ashmore, past president of the New Jersey Association of Real Estate Boards and State Senator J. Henry Harrison. Tax Commissioner John J. Berry was toastmaster.
