For the first time in the history of New Jersey, a certificate of incorporation has been filed in this state in the Hebrew language.
Mordecai L. Lipis drew up the incorporation papers for the Vaad Ha’Kehillah, a new federation comprised chiefly of orthodox congregations, and in so doing, he decided upon two fairly novel steps; first, among the objects cited for the Vaad is aid for the rebuilding of Palestine; and secondly the incorporation papers themselves are being filed in Hebrew with the Secretary of State. And instead of the customary transcription by the County Registrar in filing the papers, photostatic copies of the original Hebrew incorporation certificate will be placed upon the Registrar’s books.
The following are the incorporators: Samuel Miller, Max Zanger, Oscar R. Cherny, Jacob Gersten, Louis Friedman, Alexander Isserman, Alexander Orlowitz, Harry Engelhart, Jacob Willner, Charles Loebel, Benjamin P. Berger and Philip Senzer.
