The first Israeli court martial against members of the Stern Group was postponed today after the court agreed with the defense counsel’s argument that Nathan Friedman-Yellin and several other Sternist leaders should be permitted to testify that the Stern Group is not an illegal organization.
The trial was held in Acre where more than 100 Sternists have been detained for the past several weeks following their break from a Jaffa jail. The trial was called under the provisions of the Emergency Defense Regulations.
