The first group of Israel-bound immigrants from the Bergen-Belsen DP camp for Jews in the British zone of Germany reached Marseilles today, it was announced here by the Jewish Committee for Relief Abroad, which made the travel arrangements. The party numbered 550 and included some men of military age. The immigrants will be forced to remain in Marseilles for a while before proceeding to Israel because the Israeli vessels on the run to Haifa are laid up in Marseilles docks for repairs.
