About 40 senior representatives of the Commission of the European Economic Community (EEC) and representatives of its nine member states are due here this week for the first joint Israel-EEC Committee conference. The conferences will be held periodically under terms of Israel’s agreement with the Common Market which went into effect last July. The European group, headed by Claude Cheysson, commissioner in charge of the Common Market’s relations with Middle Eastern and developing countries, will begin talks Thursday with an Israeli delegation headed by Foreign Minister Yigal Allon. They will tour the country over the weekend and resume talks next Sunday and Monday. The objective of the conference is to broaden cooperation between Israel and the Common Market.
