Professional educators and laymen involved in Jewish education from communities all over Canada will participate in the first National Conference on Jewish Education to be held at the Zionist Center in Toronto Dec. 10-11. The Conference was convened jointly by the Canadian Jewish Congress, the Canadian Zionist Federation and the Canadian Committee of the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds “to come to grips with the substantive problems of Jewish education.
A statement Issued by the organizing committee of the Conference said the main topics on the agenda are national standards, teacher training and recruitment, curriculum, parental attitudes and funding.
