First lady Laura Bush joined an anti-hate campaign sponsored by the Anti-Defamation League and the Barnes & Noble bookstore chain, which launched the second annual “Close the Book on Hate” national campaign. Bush told a group of schoolchildren in Washington how important it is to read and be educated in order to stay informed.
