The first ORT School in Havana, Cuba, has been established, with the official opening scheduled for March 28, it was announced today by George Backer, president of the American ORT Federation.
Dr. Raphael Guam Inklan, Governor of Havana and Honorary President of the Cuban ORT Committee, will officiate at the opening, which will be attended by many prominent officials, including the Polish and Czechoslovakian Ministers to Cuba. The Havana ORT Committee, with the cooperation of the Cuban Government, has opened the school to give refugees an opportunity to become self-supporting and at the same time aid in the national defense program.
