The first Palestine industrial exhibit to be shown in South Africa was officially opened here today by C.F. Sturrock, Minister of Transport. It was arranged by the South African Board for Inter-trade Relations, which hopes to stimulate trade between the two countries through the co-operation of the Jewish Agency and the local Zionist Federation.
Sturrock welcomed the possibility of trade between the two nations, declaring that if it will stimulate trade, the Railway Administration is prepared to open a sea service to Palestine. He added that he would ask his department to examine the possibility of extending the Capetown-Cairo air route to Palestine. He also said that he hoped it would be possible for South Africa to appoint a trade representative in Palestine soon.
