Yiddish was used as the language in which Editor Osherowitz of the “Weker” addressed the All White Russian Conference of Soviets, held in Minsk. He stated that the Jewish workers had shed enough blood for the freedom of the country and that the prison walls of White Russia had absorbed enough of their suffering to gain for the Jews equal rights. This is the first time in the history of non-Jewish conferences that Yiddish has been used as an official language.
