Five governors Joined today in emphasizing the importance of America-Israel relationships and in hailing the work of the Mizrachi Women’s Organization of America in the development of close ties between the two countries. In messages sent to the Eastern Seaboard Conference of Mizrachi Women, which opened here tonight, the chief executives of Maine, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland stressed the role of Israel as a stabilizing influence in the Middle East.
The keynote session of the conference tonight heard David Rivlin, Consul of Israel in New York and Philadelphia, in an address on Israel’s new perspectives. Tomorrow Mrs. Tamar Eshel, director of Israel’s student exchange program, and a representative of Israel on several of the specialized agencies of the U.N., will address delegates representing 20,000 Mizrachi Women on the Eastern Seaboard.
