Five swastikas were spray-painted on homes in Brooklyn.
The vandalism, discovered Tuesday afternoon, occurred in the New York City borough’s Williamsburg section.
It was the second incident this week in Brooklyn, according to the New York Sun.
On Sunday, swastikas and an anti-Semitic slur were painted on cars in Williamsburg and, less than an hour later, a swastika was discovered painted on a car in the Crown Heights section, according to the Yeshiva World News Web site.
The Police Department’s Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the incidents.
“I am disgusted that hate crimes such as these have become so prevalent throughout Brooklyn,” said Councilman Bill De Blasio in a statement. “These type of anti-Semitic actions have no place in Brooklyn. It’s appalling that in 2008 we are still seeing this type of repulsive behavior. Intolerance whether it comes to the Jewish community or any other group is not acceptable.â€
