The “freedom of Fleet Street” was conferred upon the Marquis of Reading at a banquet given on Saturday night at the London Press Club. The banquet was given on the occasion of the Marquis’ assumption of the directorship of the London “Chronicle.”
Lord Burnham, who delivered an address at the banquet, stated that the English press is honored by Reading’s presence.
