An attempt to sabotage the Tel Aviv-Haifa railway, Israel’s main railway line, was foiled Friday according to a police communique released today. The communique said a railway worker observed a suspicious object connected to wires near the line, some nine and a half miles south of Haifa. A police explosives expert discovered an electric bomb weighing 22 pounds under the rails. The bomb was dismantled with no damage.
