Following heavy American pressure, Israel reportedly will change the route of its security fence. Ma’ariv reported Tuesday that the fence’s “eastern finger,” which was to have included the Israeli city of Ariel, in the West Bank, will be dropped. Instead, the fence will run further west, closer to the boundary that divides Israel proper from the West Bank, captured from Jordan in 1967.
