The foreign policy section of the 1972 Democratic Party platform-the part that will contain the party’s position on the Middle East and Soviet Jewry among other things-will be worked on tonight and will be in the hands of the full Platform Committee for discussion by nine o’clock tomorrow morning, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency was told today by Mayor Kenneth Gibson of Newark, chairman of the 15-member sub-committee assigned the task of drafting the platform. Asked if there was a concensus in his sub-committee on the Israel plank, Mayor Gibson replied, “No, not yet. We haven’t discussed foreign policy at all as a group.”
