A group of non-Jewish victims of Nazi persecution announced today establishment of a fund for the planting of a forest in Israel in honor of Dr. Heinrich Gruber, the Protestant bishop who recently testified for the prosecution in the Jerusalem trial of Adolf Eichmann. The forest, to be planted near Jerusalem, will mark Rev. Gruber’s 70th birthday which he celebrated this weekend.
Rev. Gruber is credited with saving the lives of thousands of Nazi victims until his arrest by the Gestapo during the Second World War.
