Three former municipal officials of Aachen will be tried shortly on charges of being implicated in the destruction of the Aachen synagogue in Nov. 1938, during the riots which swept Germany following the assassination of Ernst vom Rath, German counsellor in Paris, the British-controlled German news service reports. The three are: Quirin Jansen, former mayor of Aachen; Karl Zenner, former police chief and Eduard Schmeck, former Nazi district leader.
